Definition:
One of the six metrical feet of Classical poetry, having one
long or stressed syllable followed by two short or unstressed
syllables. It corresponds to the third of the medieval
rhythmic
modes, but with notes in relationship of 3-to-1-to-2, rather
than 2-to-1-to-1.
