Definition:
An irregularity in the metrical structure
that accompanies some instances of grouping elision or overlap.
Specifically, it occurs when the event that is shared by the two
groups represents a weak beat in one of the groups and a stronger
beat in the other (Lerdahl
and Jackendoff, 1983).
