Rhythm and Meter in Tonal Music: A Bibliography and Glossary
NOTE: Readers of this site are encouraged to submit
selecting the Add to Bibliography and Add to Glossary
items above and by completing the appropriate fields.
Submissions are received as email and
will be entered if annotations and glossary items (as appropriate) are
completed. GW (11/23/02)
- Annotations should be carefully worded to reflect the gist of the work
cited and should
be limited to about 250 words.
- If special terminology is a part of the
cited work, or if standard terms are redefined within the work, then you
should also submit appropriate Glossary entries (which are called
keywords) along with their definitions.
- Note carefully: All terms defined in the Glossary are specific
to articles listed in the Bibliography. In other words, this is not a
general glossary of terms pertaining to musical rhythm.
The Rhythm and Meter Bibliography and Glossary was
begun as a collective project by members of the graduate music theory
seminar "Rhythm and Meter in Tonal Music," given during the winter
semester of the 1995-96 academic year in the School of Music at Indiana
